Tōsaka family
The Tōsaka family (Miranian: 遠坂) is a Gylian political family of Miranian descent that has achieved prominence in the fields of education, public service, and politics. Notable members include Rin Tōsaka and Sakura Tōsaka, education ministers in the Darnan Cyras government, and Tomoko Tōsaka, the first chair of the Arts Council.
History
The Tōsaka family trace their descent to Kirisaki, and settled in Zaul around 1679.
The family gradually gained prominence in the town's civic life and economy during the Gylian ascendancy. They had some role in communal assemblies during the Free Territories, but remained mainly active in private business until Rin, Sakura, and Tomoko entered public service.
The family remains active in local politics and has occasionally produced other nationally renowned public figures.
