The Narsoran National Navy is the naval warfare branch of the Narsoran National Military. Formed in 1960 along with the original three branches, it comprises 16,700 personnel, including the 3,200 strong Narsoran National Marine Corps.
History
20th Century
Unlike the army and air forces, the navy was the last of the original branches to be founded in 1966. All of the vessels acquired at this time were gifted by foreign nations. The force also did not have a naval infantry branch until 1975, in response to the 1973 Torisakian Annexation of González Archipelago.
Modern History
In the early 21st century, the navy has been involved in several conflicts and skirmishes. Mainly with the military forces of the country of Torisakia, one of which resulted in war crimes charges for several of it's personnel.
The National Navy also maintains a naval infantry force, the Narsoran National Marine Corps.
