The Union for the Protection of Educational, Scientific and Cultural Heritage (UPESCH) is a specialised agency of the Assembly of Nations with its headquarters in Lilienburg, with a self-declared mission of promoting international co-operation in education, culture and science and preserving the world's heritage in these areas. As of 2019, It has X members and X observers.
The organisation's outreach includes programs promoting literacy, freedom of the press, regional and cultural history, cultural diversity, human rights and internet access. It also works to organise international science programs and research co-operation and exchange student programs and is involved with the preservation of world heritage sites and endangered languages. It divides its focus into five main areas: education, social science, natural science, communication and culture.
The organisation has claimed that, through promoting and developing the world's collective cultural heritage and scientific understanding, it is well placed to tackle global inequality and poverty and bring about world peace and sustainable development. It has also professed support for achieving worldwide universal education and promoting cultural diversity.
