Saint Hubert's Parish is an Imaguan parish situated in the western part of the island of Imagua. It is bordered to the south by Saint Christopher's Parish, to the west by Saint Ellen's Parish, and to the north by Saint Fiacre's Parish.
Etymology
The parish was named after Saint Hubert, the patron saint of hunters, as at the time the parish was established by the Gaullicans after the Gilded Wars, the area was full of game animals as it had been depopulated by Caldia, Geatland, and Estmere of its original indigenous inhabitants.
The name for the parish used in Etrurian is believed to come from Saint Humbert, with most believing it was a typo of Sant'Uberto when the Etrurian name was given.
Government
Saint Hubert's, like any other parish (except for the city of Cuanstad, and the Assimas Parish) is run by the parochial council (Etrurian: consiglio parrocchiale), comprising of sixteen seats. The parochial council is led by a Sheriff (Sceriffo or Sceriffa), currently Joe Murphy. The parochial government is based in Saint-André.
Like all other parishes except Cuanstad and the Assimas Islands, Saint Hubert's has very little authority, which has led to very low participation in parochial elections and government, with the average turnout for parochial elections only being around 25%.
Economy
Due to its isolation from Cuanstad, the economy of Saint Hubert's is not as greatly influenced by the city. Thus, the area is very agricultural, except Saint-André, which serves as the main political centre for the region, which enables it to be a somewhat important economic centre for the area.
