The Evening Courier (French reformed: L'Courier d'Soir) is a Gylian newspaper, founded in 1946.
History
It was founded in 1946 by Violet Bonham, who remained its editor-in-chief and a major contributor for the rest of her life.
Initially, the paper served as an outlet for her "anarcho-liberal" beliefs, and later evolved its position. It was supportive of the Golden Revolution and the PA–LU alliance.
The 1990s saw it adopt new technology such as digital printing, establish its website, and digitise its archives through BiblioNet.
Profile
Its political orientation is liberal. It claims adherence to the radical tradition and is strongly sympathetic to anarchism.
It publishes editions in English, French, and Gylic, with the latter edition using the various Gylic languages based on the native language of the respective writer or region referred to in the story.
Ownership and organisation
The Evening Courier is owned and published by the ECS Cooperative, legally constituted as a Co-Op. Its headquarters are in Vilêna, Arsad.
The newspaper has a 5-member Management Board and a 10-member Supervisory Board, elected yearly.
Its revenue comes from newsagent's sales, paid subscriptions, online orders, and donations. Donors are listed at the end of each issue. It does not accept advertising.
