PurposeTapetihan Liberation

Tapetihan Underground was the modern manifestation of the Tapetihan liberation movement which sought to give the Tapetihan people their own state, or at least equal ruling power to Nordhics. The organization was formed in 1951 to combat the ruling monarchy's policy of foreign isolation and oppression. The organization was most active from the end of the Nordhurlandic Civil War until around 1970, when tensions dissipated. The organization is still semi-active, being only a shell of its former self after the liberation of many social policies of the Nordhurlandic government and the creation of the Nordhurlandic secret police force. The organization in the 1910's-70's was a primarily underground operation that coordinated through several cells, mainly in major settlements. They are notable for several attacks on Nordhurlandic government offices, primarily in the 1920s and 30s, most notably the bombing of the Nordhurlandic Interior Ministry. In modern times, they have taken a more peaceful approach, attempting to educate the Tapetihan people about other countries and the oppressive regime under which they exist, proving how well off they could be under a democratic regime in order to incite protest among the Tapetihan people. The leader of the Tapetihan Underground, Jīklew Kāqujkaj, had been imprisoned for conspiracy to sow dissent since 2003 in Nordhurlant's most infamous prison, Pemkeksiswei prison. In December 2018, Kāqujkaj was released from prison following an agreement with the government. The organization effectively ceased to exist on 15 December 2018, when, after the Prince's death, Jīklew Kāqujkaj traveled to Nordhurstadt and proclaimed a new, democratic government providing equal rights for Tapetihans and Nordhics.
