Origins and History
The House of Gryf was formed in 1865 upon the declaration of independence of Nordhurlant from the United Kingdom of Lhedwin. A prestigious noble family, the Gryfs, were put in charge of the new state. The first Nordhic member of the family was Grimmr Grimmr Larsson Gryf, after whom the last head, Grimmr Stefanson I Gryf was named. Grimmr Grimmr Larsson Gryf is notable for being the founder of Nordhurstadt, Nordhurlant's former capital city.
Wealth
Before the Twilight Revolution, the family controlled a majority of the wealth in the country, on account of Nordhurlant having been an absolute monarchy up to that point and the Prince having controlled all assets within the state. These included a vast majority of the countryside, many coal-fired power stations, and the entire town of Siputaqaméten directly.
Residences
The family owned a single main residence, the royal palace of Heyggjurberg, where all the royal family was brought up and where most of them lived. Aside from this, there were many hunting retreats scattered throughout the countryside also controlled directly by the family.
