The Wojdyla family is a political family that has been prominent in West Miersan politics and business since West Miersa's independence from Soravia in 1936.

History

The Wojdyla political family arose from Cyryl Wojdyla, who was a civil servant who began working for the governmental authorities of the Miersan Governate from the 1860s onward, with Cyryl's paternal great-grandfather (and earliest known Wojdyla) being a man named Romuald who resided in the present-day voivodeship of Bełkot, leading most genealogists to suggest the Wojdylas originated in Bełkot. However, it is not entirely certain if they originated in Bełkot, as some evidence, plus family traditions, state that they originated around Zieruń.

Due to Cyryl's role in administering the governate, and his children's loyalty to Soravia during the Great War occupation of the Miersan Governate, when Soravia was forced to create a client state in the aftermath of the 1936 Miersan general strike and the subsequent Godfredson Plan, the Wojdyla family was approached to help Soravia maintain control over the country.
