Zayyaan al-Akhtar (born 17 November 1945) is an Zalluabedian politician currently serving as the President of Zalluabed since December 2019. He took over the power from former President Abdelaziz Melkabaar. Previously, he was Defense Minister of Zalluabed from December 2015 to December of 2019.
Early life and education
Al-Akhtar was born on 17 November 1945 in Zakaraban, Zalluabed. He graduated from the Zalluabed University of Administration in 1965.
Political career
Al-Akhtar was elected president following the 2019 Zalluabed presidential election, after taking 58% of the votes, against candidates from both main parties (the National Liberation Front and the Democratic National Rally). As President, one of his first acts was abolishing discrimination clauses in housing applications in Zalluabed.
In November of 2020, Al-Akhtar came to an agreement with Drambenburg to allow the Drambenburgian military to establish multiple bases within the country in exchange for protection and economic incentives.
