Erwin Pohl (28 January 1912 - 3 February 2001) was a Besmenian politician, who served as the 8th President of Besmenia between 1973 and 1979. Before that, Pohl served as the first Governor of Heraldsteinland from 1967 to 1973.
Early life
Erwin Pohl was born on January 28, 1912 in Behringen, Metakumburg, Kingdom of Besmenia. Pohl was the son of Richard Pohl (1860-1942), who was ambassador for Zamastan from 1914 to 1920, and the history teacher Bertha Pohl (1864-1950, née Müller). Since his father was an ambassador for Zamastan, Pohl lived in Tofino until he was 8 years old. In March 1920 the family moved back to Besmenia to Melmingia. When Pohl was 14 years old, the border between West Besmenia and East Besmenia was closed under the orders of Karl Ochsenbein.
Education
In 1931 Pohl began studying law at Karl Ochsenbein University (today: North Melmingian University), which he successfully completed in 1936. During his studies, Pohl worked from 1932 to 1936 as an assistant for the lawyer Heinrich Mayer.
