Early life and education

born into a devoutly Muslim, upper-middle class Danistarabi military family in 1952 and named Muhammad Ibn Hamza Hawadle, his father Hamza Hawadle was a Major in the Presidential Guard Brigade at the time. He attended High School where he received high grades in all subjects except art (especially History, Islamic Studies and Arabic). After graduating High School he attended Madinat Al-Muluk University on an Army scholarship, studying history, once his father attempted a coup he removed the Ibn Hamza part of his name. Despite his distaste for his father he also opposed secular political, being active in the moral force Islamist movement. He graduated with a first class degree in 1974, immediately joining the Army Officer College and training as an airborne infantry officer.

Army service

He served as an airborne infantry officer from 1975-1989, winning medals.

Insurgent activities

He joined the Danistarabi Independence Army after the fall of the Emirate of Danistarab in Janurary 2021. With many commanders having either died in the war, resigned or (if commanders in certain services) been executed for various crimes, Muhammad Hawadle was chosen as the "Field Marshal" of the organisation.

Personal life

He married notable Islamist activist and Islamic scholar Aisha Hawadle in 1975 and in 1977, they had a son Khalid Ibn Muhammad Hawadle. Muhammad Hawadle describes himself as a "practising Muslim" and he is teetotal and well as smoking neither tobacco nor cannabis. He is ethnically Somali and says he "follows the plight of Somalia closely".
