Danistarabi loyalism

Danistarabi loyalism refers to support for the secular, mostly atheist government of President Danistarabi. The main Danistarabi loyalist group is the Danistarabi Independence Army led by Major-General Muhammad Hawadle.

Ideology

The most prominent ideology represented in their government-in-exile in Jamaica is a combination of secularism (termed Lacite) and appeals to Pan-Africanism (though commentators see the latter as more an attempt to get support from other countries than a consistent political stance. Free market policies are advocated, including an anti-prohibitionist stance on drugs, alcohol, gambling and tobacco. A return to a form of secular banking (involving the charging of interest) is also favoured. They support the old Danistarabi monarchy as a purely ceremonial institution and most factions pay lip service to “democracy” despite the skepticism many of the former security services have for the concept.

Demographics

Danistarabi loyalists tend to be the upper-middle class offspring of the former regime’s elite though many people with a familial or other connection to organised crime are also members.
