Werfareich [wɪəfaˈraɪh], officially the Greater State of Werfareich (Werfish: Großstaat Werfareich [gros∫ta:t wɪəfaˈraɪh]) is a sovereign state on the southern part of the South Voytana (Werfish: Südwoytanland) continent. It is bound to the west by Weccandia, to the south by Rumanian States, and to the north by Avaristani, also, in the south, washed by the Marlandor Sea (Werfish: Marlandormeer). Stolzenburg is the country's capital and the most populous city is the main cultural and economic centre of Werfareich; other major cities and urban areas include Vetschau, Kleinzschachwitz, Lauterberg, Averbruch, Obernankau, Kuhnen and Ganzig. With a population of approximately 54 million inhabitants as of 2020 and a territorial area of 560,748 km2 (216,506 sq mi).
Werfareich is a unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy since its formal establishment in 1488. The Constitution adopted in 1902 determines the separation of power is exercised by the country's Landtag, formally by the ruling Monarch, and the High Court. However, in 2104 such a situation developed that the ruling Monarch died childless, and there was no suitable candidate left for the Throne. After an unsuccessful attempt to elect a Monarch from among the nobles, the communist revolution took place, followed by the Civil War of 2105 - 2108, in which a triumvirate of military, noblemen and monarchists won. As a result of the Civil War, Werfareich, in fact, became a republic under a military junta with the ruling National Unity Party. The highest post in the country (Chancellor-Regent of the Kingdom) is held by representatives of the nobility, and the second post in the state (General-Protector, that is, the Supreme Commander and Deputy Chancellor-Regent of the Kingdom) is held by representatives of the military. The post of Chancellor-Regent of the Kingdom has been held by Ester Honigberg since May 3, 2128. The post of Protector General has been held by Friedrich Holz since May 10, 2128.
Werfareich today retains its political, cultural and economic power amassed in the 20th and 21th centuries, is a highly developed country. It additionally ranks highly in rankings of human development, education, healthcare, life expectancy and economic competitiveness. Werfareich is a country with a dynamically developing economy: GDP for 2020 was 2.519 trillion marks (about 45,962 marks per capita). The monetary unit is the Werfish Mark.
The state language is Werfish.
Etymology
The word "Werfaraich", according to some etymologists, comes from the ancient Werfish, and means "Throwers". According to the classical theory, made on the basis of archaeological finds, the indigenous Wanderman tribe "Vendeerman" lived in the Leupolz region. The first mention of the Wanderman tribes dates back to the middle of the third century AD. It is mentioned in the chronicles of the Rumanian State, which describes the nomadic tribes of Wandermans, Hestergottmanns and Norts who arrived from the northeast and settled in the Smaragdtal valley. The word "Aruncatori", used by the Rumanian State for a general designation of all the tribes of the Smaragdtal valley, quickly caught on at the diplomatic level, as the Rumanian State was the cultural and technological hegemon in the region. Many states called Werfaraich in their own way, depending on linguistic and cultural norms.
According to another, less common, version, the word Werfaraich is a misspelled word "wafer" - a traditional dish of the Werfaraich cuisine. Werfish is the word "Oblate", in the Weccan language it is called "wafer". It is believed that the first Weccandian merchants who brought a previously unknown product to their homeland gave it the name "wafer". From this theory, it turns out that Werfaraich is the land of the wafer. But this theory was recognized as untenable due to the fact that no direct evidence in favor of this theory was found.
However, in 1963, King Jan Friedrich I made a statement internationally with the proclamation from now on in official documents to use the name Werfaraich in relation to the state of the Smaragdtal valley.
In relation to the inhabitants of Werfaraich, the term Werfians is commonly used.

Migration policy
After a series of terrorist acts in the world, the government has consistently tightened immigration laws. Anti-immigration measures have significantly reduced the inflow of certain categories of migrants to Eastarland. In particular, in 2151, 4198 entry permits for family reunification were issued, which is 70% less than in 2153, and 1038 people were granted political asylum (82.5% less). At the same time, over the period 2151-2153, the number of those who received a study visa increased from 10 to 28.4 thousand people (an increase of 2.8 times), and those who entered on a work visa - from 5.9 to 12.8 thousand people (an increase 100%). In 2154, the measures were further tightened - in particular, a point system was introduced for spouses of immigrants wishing to enter the country.
