RanksMilitary ranks of Transcandar

The Royal Transcandar Armed Forces, RTAF (Transcandarian: Kraliyet Çandaröte Silahlı Kuvvetleri, KÇSK) are the military forces of the Principality of Transcandar. They consist of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. The Gendarmerie and the Coast Guard, both of which have law enforcement and military functions, and operate as components of the internal security forces in peacetime, and are subordinate to the Ministry of Interior. In wartime, they are subordinate to the Army and Navy. The Prince of Transcandar is the military's overall head.

Every fit Transcandarian citizen otherwise not barred is encouraged to serve in the military for a period ranging from three weeks to a year, dependent on education and job location. However benefits are given to people who plan on a career in the military. In the case of conscription Transcandar did not recognize conscientious objection until 2007. Women may serve in the Transcandarian military, but cannot be conscripted. According to government news sources, in 20017, Transcandar spent 1.8% percent of G.D.P. on its military, or about $6.120 billion.
