The first round of the 2021 Slavic Presidential Election will be held on 4 October 2021. Should no candidate win a majority of the vote in the first round, a runoff will be held between the two top candidates on 11 October 2021. It is the first ever presidential election in the Slavic Union and the first completely free elections in the countries history.
The legislative elections are to be held a week after round two of the election.
The main candidates in the election are former Duma member Ulyana Agapova (Green Union), labor activist Mikhail Franko (Slavic Labor League), businessman Nikifor Bogun (Christian Democratic Party), lawyer Nikita Ignatkovich (People's Freedom Party), and businessman Robert Lobov (Motherland Party).
Background
The Constitution of the Slavic Union states that the President of the Slavic Union is directly elected by universal suffrage.
Slavic presidential elections are conducted using run-off voting, which ensures that the elected president always obtains a majority: if no candidate receives a majority of votes in the first round of voting, the two highest-scoring candidates arrive at a run-off.
First Round
The first round of the election took place on October 4th, 2021.
