The Unification of Syara into the Republic of Syara with a coherent political and legal institution occurred on 17 April 1875 with the Conference of Pella, the ancient home of the Makedonian Empire. Representatives of the Syaran Successor States met and agreed to combine their territories, economies, and administrations into a single political entity, ruled over by a representative democracy, while the Galanian and Makedonian monarchies were allowed to retain their own independence within their respective Realms. The Unification of Syara marked the first time Syara had been unified under a single domestic entity since 1305, and would last until 1987.

Syara as a unified state had first emerged under the Makedonian Empire, which ruled over Syara from 238 BCE until it's subjugation by the Arkoennite Empire in 1305. Despite it's defeat the Makedonians continued to rule over Syara in place of the Arkoennites, serving as de facto enforcers of Arkoennite rule. In the centuries that followed however Makedonian rule gradually subsided as the Scitarians, Galanians, and Hayreniky Clans exerted greater influence in their own affairs, coupled by the steady development of industry and science throughout Syara. During this time the Makedonian's traditional Hellenic culture began to be replaced by the more Slavonic Galanian and Scitarian influence, although this process had been ongoing since at least the 9th century. By the 18th century little remained of Makedon's Hellenic language as Syara became more Slavicized.

In 1715 the last bastion of Arkoennite rule in Syara collapsed, leading to the foundations of the Kingdom of Makedon, the Kingdom of Galania, the Scitarian Commonwealth, and the Hayrenkiy Periphery. Although the Makedonians claimed lordship over all of Syara, their efforts to enforce their rule were met with resistance from the other Syaran powers, resulting in the Wars of Syaran Succession. Internal fighting between the Realms persisted until the 1820s, when the rising power of neighboring Ruvelkan Imperium threatened Syaran independence. The Ruvelkan-Galanian War between 1842 to 1843 further cemented Syaran fears of Ruvelkan invasion, leading to the first major discussions about Syaran unification in the 1850s. Unification eluded Syaran efforts until the 1860s, when the foundation of the Ruvelkan Socialist Republic further heightened fears within Syaran of Ruvelkan dominance.

Syaran fears proved concrete when the Ruvelkan Red Army invaded Makedon in 1872, but to the surprise of many the Makedonians rapidly routed the Red Army, before invading Ruvelka proper. The Makedonians subsequently captured the Ruvelkan capital of Kapsovar and Zemplen, which had been lost by the Galanians in 1843, and the Socialist Republic sued for peace shortly afterwards. The surprise victory over Syara's traditional enemy galvanized public support in favor of unification, and in 1875 the four Realms agreed to meet in Pella to discuss officially forming a unified state. The Conference of Pella lasted for little over a week, ending on 17 April with the announcement of the formation of the Republic of Syara. Official elections were held a year later in 1876 which formally established the Senate of Syara and the office of the President of the Syaran Republic.

The formation of the Republic profoundly upset the balance of power between Ruvelka and Syara, leading to heightened tensions between the two. War between the two states broke out in the early 20th century resulting in the loss of Zemplen, but it was later reclaimed during the Ruvelkan Civil War. The collapse of the Socialist Republic originally seemed like a major gain for Syara, but the outbreak of the Divide War with Cacerta soon threatened the livelihood of the young Republic. The unexpected Syaran victory over Tyran's most powerful empire was a huge boon to Syaran national pride, which surged in the years after leading to an outpouring of nationalist sentiment. This nationalist ambition eventually cultivated in the formation of the Inner Sphere, which ended poorly for Syara in the Siduri War. The Republic would endure for another forty years before it's dissolution at the end of the Refusal War.
