Caroline Keller (born January 13th, 1980) is currently the Chairperson of the Malgravean Green Party and Leader of the Opposition.
Early life and career
Caroline Keller was born in Aria on the 13th of January, 1980 in Aria, as the region had only just recently been absorbed into the United Kingdom following the collapse of the National Workers' Republic it was at the centre of an integration campaign which encouraged citizens to become members of the Ancestral Study Group and promoted children into becoming members of the Gabriel Narutowicz Pioneers and the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave). Both the Gabriel Narutowicz Pioneers and the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) regularly engaged in field trips within other parts of Malgrave and took part in exchanges with other branches, all part of an attempt to improve the social solidarity between ex-NWR citizens which was presumed to be quite lacking by officials in Epping.
In 2002 Caroline completed her studies in Environmental Engineering at Aung Engineering Academy, and soon after leaving accepted an engineering position as MalEn, the state-run electricity company. It was at this point that Caroline started to become involved in politics, as they joined the Young Greens and started to get involved in political organising, with a focus on environmentalism and regional investments in the Aria region, with Caroline becoming Leader of the Young Greens in 2005.
As Leader of the Young Greens, Caroline first came to national attention for leading an attempted boycott of Breheimian products due to the states involving in the whaling and fishing trade, a campaign which hasn't proven to be successful as successive governments have instead chosen to expand trade connections with Breheim.
Caroline's next moment in the spotlight came when she organised a protest against the continued use of older merchant ships in MalTra service, as the older ship designs were produced before environmental standards were made more stringent in 1997. Caroline was able to receive support from both environmental groups and the Alliance of Commercial Shipbuilders and Assorted Dockworkers (CSAD), and eventually MalTra agreed to replace the vessels in question with a new-line of ships built in facilities in Aurora and Portmon, a step which earned her much praise from the trade unions.
In 2009 Caroline was elected unopposed to become the next Chairperson of the Malgravean Green Party, since that date they've led the party through three election campaigns which has seen the Green Party grow to become the official opposition in the country.
