The Dokodo Union strip is mandatory on all registration plates, with the text "DZUKAN RUL I ARSYA" and the national coat of arms. Serial made up of 4 numbers and up to three letters followed by the 3-digit provincial code. All serials for all provincial codes begin at 1000 as no leading zeroes are permitted. Once 9999 is reached for a provincial code, a single letter is appended. Once the series is exhausted, another letter is appended as needed.
