Itayana, officially Itayana Solar Authocracy, is a theocracy situated in southern Scipia, bordering Charnea to the north, M'biruna to the east and one of the Nine Cousins of Sante Reze to the west. Geographically, the country is centered around fertile valleys of Karana and Imo rivers and includes the whole basin of the former, including its largest inlets, Erinle and Kasai; while the eastern part consists of Makhato plateau, the source of Karana.
Earliest traces of human activity in Karana and Imo basins have been dated 30,000 BC and the first civilizations emerged circa 2000 BC. The first notion of a distinct Itayana culture appeared around 600 BC when Karana and Imo basins were unified by what was later named the First Realm; its territory would eventually expand to encompass the entire southern Scipia by 400 CE. After internal instability caused by the rise of the Solar Cult, the First Realm entered a period of decline, ending abruptly with Ihemodian invasion of 1372-1375 burning most of the Makhato Plateau and conquering most of the right bank of Karana. After 250 years of occupation, Yanbango priesthood of the Solar Temple of Yanbango reasserted control over both basins, establishing the Second Realm. Further campaigns of <<Ita-Napoleon>> expanded the Realm singificantly but infighting within the priesthood reverted much of the gains. The rest of the Second Realm collapsed after a <<war>> of 1870-1875; much of the Imo Basin was lost, while the rest split on independent governorates with population decimated by pandemic. The ongoing process of Itayana Reunification started with Agala War and continues to this day.
Today, Itayana is a rapidly developing nation with dominant secondary sector used in supply chains of Nine Cousins and four major Oxidentale nations, and as such maintains functional relationships with all four of them. It is a member of Transoceanic Co-Prosperity Sphere while its conglomerates participate in several international research and dvelopmet efforts such as Oxidentale Jet Works consortium. Itayana also maintains warm realtionships with the theocracy of Elatia in Norumbia and the Tsardom of Velikoslavia of Eastern Belisaria.
