The Ortyx is a Syaran twinjet 5th-generation stealth multi-role fighter aircraft currently in development for the Syaran Commonality Navy. The Ortyx is being developed concurrently with the Van Lao-class of aircraft carriers, which is expected to be its primary platform.
The Ortyx is expected to fly at a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 (1.2 at sea level), with a combat range of 1,200 kilometers and a payload of 8,000 kilograms. The Ortyx, along with the Van Lao-class, the Kaikias stealth bomber, and the XheKal and Periplous anti-ship missiles are intended to facilitate Syaran strategic measures of anti-access and area-denial in the Nuadan, Sundering, and Sanguine Seas.
