The Vedoti Pact, also spelt as Vedotī Pact, is a military organization located in the South Sunadic Ocean, consisting of eleven member states. The Vedoti Pact is described as a federal military alliance on an international scale, having been founded collectively by the Military Junta of Flatstone, Kakland, Syrgystan, Fallooplesburg, and Sitrea in 1996 amidst the Stonish Civil War. The pact had originally been proposed to Kakish government officials by members of the Loyalist Movement in Flatstone, which had been fighting for its political independence from the Stonish democratic government during the civil war; However shortly after the proposition was delivered, it was decided that additional invitations would also be dispatched to Sitrea, Syrgystan, and Fallooplesburg, incorporating said nations into the pact upon its creation.
The Vedoti Pact has a variety of goals, each bearing as much importance as the next. The Vedoti Pact sees all of its members as equals, with no one nation possessing the title of "leader". However, with this being said, Flatstone is often considered the founder of the pact, however this title is only in name. The pact prioritizes both economic and military values, with its first priority being to ensure regional stability by eliminating any immediate threats to it. The Vedoti Pact firmly believes in the development of its members, with many of its members cooperating militarily and economically to ensure a better future for everyone collectively.
The Vedoti peace-keeping force (PKF) is responsible for the pacts defense. The PKF specializes in the suppression of rebellions and the quelling of political unrest, however if it becomes necessary the PKF can also be mobilized during times of war. Every nation within the VP is expected to contribute to the PKF somehow, whether that be with its own divisions or simply with the production of PKF-standard equipment.
History
Creation of the Pact and the Stonish Civil War
The pact, particularly Kakland, would play a major role in the conclusion of the Stonish Civil War, supplying the Loyalist Movement with vital equipment and volunteers that it lacked for extended periods of time. For the next twenty years, Kakland would play an essential role within the Vedoti Pact alongside Flatstone and its other members. In 2001, the Vedoti Pact would establish an international peace-keeping force, a universal military unit capable of handling internal affairs within the borders of the pacts' members. The Vedoti Pact's peace-keeping force (PKF) would play an essential role in the Stonish Civil War of the time, contributing significantly in the closing years of the conflict and bringing about a resolution. In 2011, twenty years after the start of the conflict, the Loyalist movement would declare total victory over the archipelago, reinstating the House of Von Stone as the rightful monarchs of Flatstone and declaring the Second Kingdom of Flatstone.
The Vedoti Pact would invest large amounts of money into Flatstones economic and military recovery, issuing numerous loans and humanitarian aid to the new Stonish government and people, all the while the Stonish government consolidated their nation, rearranging the nations administration and military to their liking. In the following years, Flatstone would increase its influence within the pact, cooperating with nations like Kakland and Syrgystan to implement necessary additions to the pact in order to modernize it. A series of immediate changes and reforms would take place, passing the Economic Act of 2022, centralizing the pacts' economies, and later establishing the Vedoti Space Administration, unifying the many members' space agencies into one greater entity. The nation of Morrawia would enter into the pact shortly before the creation of the Vedoti Space Administration, making it the first nation to join the pact after its initial creation. Zhiguryia would follow closely behind, becoming the second nation to join the Vedoti Pact next to the founders.
Tensions with Hoterallia and the Salstil Pact
The democratic government of Flatstone prior to the Stonish Civil War had engaged in diplomatic relations with the nation of Hoterallia, Kakland, and Gran Rugido, establishing what would later become the South Sunadic Economic Agreement (SSEA) in 1989. This agreement would serve as a stepping stone for the Vedoti Pact and the culmination of relations between the Federal Republic of Flatstone and Kakland before the civil war. In 1991, when the war broke out, the democratic government remained within the SSEA, however the democratic governments' legitimacy over the nation had begun to decline rapidly due to multiple uprisings by political opposition taking place over a short period of time in 1992 and 1993. In 1994, the battle for Vedoti begun and in 1995 it fell into the hands of the Loyalist Movement, giving the Loyalist Movement and the Stonish crown a claim to the nation and significantly more legitimacy. Dag Von Stone of Flatstone, whom had come to lead the Loyalist Movement alongside its military command and officers declared the creation of the Vedoti Pact with Kakland and the other founding members, much to the disagreement of Hoterallia. Hoterallia severed ties with the Junta, declaring that the new Vedoti Pact interfered with the Hoterallian and greater Salstil Pact's sphere of influence in the region. The Vedoti Pact immediately disregarded these claims, denouncing them. Despite this, Hoterallia still refused to cooperate with the new Stonish government and thus Flatstone withdrew from the South Sunadic Economic Agreement in favor of the Vedoti Pact; Kakland remained.
Growth and Prosperity
In the years leading up to 2020, following the conclusion of the Stonish Civil War, the Vedoti pact experienced a period of growth and prosperity. The nations of Ahia, Barceria, and Khirmania would all join the Vedoti Pact, as well as Sa'Androreva obtaining the status of observer state, cooperating heavily with members of the Vedoti Pact and indulging itself in diplomatic relations with them. It would also be around this time that the pact experienced its peak in military cooperation; Efforts to modernize the pact members' military institutions were doubled. Most notably the purchasing and fielding of Ahian aircraft in multiple member states of the Vedoti Pact, and the mobilization of the Stonish Armed Forces and Navy throughout the southern Sunadic. The nations of Kakland and Iskamaya additionally opened up their arms industry to the Vedoti Pact arms trade.
