Amir al Abadi (born September 28, 1968) is a Terehanian politician, political strategist, activist, and former resistance fighter who was elected President of Terehan in April 2023. Al Abadi gained reputation for igniting student-led pro-democracy demonstrations against the regime of Asaad al-Shaad in 2021. Following violent suppression of the protests by al-Shaad's army, in which thousands were killed, al Abadi became a leader of rebel movements in the country, particularly in his home city of Jataran. When WEDA invaded and overthrew al-Shaad's regime, Al Abadi was instated as a councilman on the 100-member interim governor's council, which served as the transitional government before elections could be held. He was named the leader of the New Democracy Party and when the NDP won 192/300 seats in the new Parliament, al Abadi was named President.
