Jataran (قم) is the second largest city of Terehan, with a population of 2.18 million people. It is a major port city as well as an economic and cultural hub of both the country and Southern Adula. It is a regional center for the distribution of petroleum and petroleum products, and a natural gas pipeline and a crude oil pipeline from the interior fields of Terehan run to the Jataran refinery on the Avisca Sea. Jataran gained additional prosperity when oil was discovered near the city in 1956 and a large refinery was built.
