2023-24 JPL Season

The Jefustraz Premiere Lig (JPL) is a professional assiciation football league in the nation of Jefustraz. Established in 1969, the league has become a prominent platform for top-tier football competition in the country. The league runs in a promotion relegation system with JFL 1. With a total of 16 teams, the JPL showcases the skills and talents of both domestic and international players, captivating fans across the nation. Season typically lasts for 30 games, with each team facing all the other teams 2 times, once home and once away. Most games occur in the weakends and Fridays, with the rest of the days reserved for cup games.

A national league for the sport of football was planned as far backs as the 50s right after the war. But due to the post war economic depression, the nation could not find suitable sponsors to fund the league. Finally in 1968, the Hanneson and Co decided to fund a national football league. So the best clubs from the regional leagues were collected to participate in 3 leagues - the JPL, JFL 1 and JFL 2, with a promotion relegation system between them and teams from JFL 2 having a system with the regional leagues. The league was officially established in 1969 but the first season was delayed to 1971. The first season kicked off to great financial success. But this was shortlived, as the league went through falling attendance records. To tackle the situation, the schedule timing of the league was changed from Autumn to spring/summer. And this helped the league to climb back up.

The League has a accumulated tv deals worth over $970 million, with the current tv rights being in the hands of Falcon TV, who bought the rights in 2017 and have the right till 2025 for $2.4 billion. The League has a central payment of $2 billion along with $250 million worth solidarity payments to JFL clubs.

Known for its passionate fan base and thrilling matches, the JPL has cemented its position as a premier sporting event in Jefustraz, attracting a wide range of spectators and media attention both domestically and internationally. The league attracts an average of 40,132 fans to the stadiums every game as of the 2021/22 season records with viewership hitting 150 million that season. The league is also televised in over 170 countries all over the globe

A total of 29 teams have managed to play in the top league, with all of the teams relegating down at least once. The top team by a leap is Winville Athletic winning 9 titles followed by Indalle Soccer Association with 5 titles, FC Miland, Indalle City FC and Ellecan SC each winning 4 titles, Gervalle Sporting FC, Fehrmont Athletic FC, Fehrmont United FC, Canichill Greens, Wellermouth FC and Tourton CF all winning 3 titles, AC Petrin with 2 titles and Indalle SFC, Canney City FC, Athletic Harton, Midell FC and Davina Union all having a single championship in their belt.
