The Jefustraz Premiere Lig (JPL) is a professional assiciation football league in the nation of Jefustraz. A national league for the sport of football was planned as far backs as the 50s right after the war. But due to the post war economic depression, the nation could not find suitable sponsors to fund the league. Finally in 1968, the Hanneson and Co decided to fund a national football league. So the best clubs from the regional leagues were collected to participate in 3 leagues - the JPL, JFL 1 and JFL 2, with a promotion relegation system between them and teams from JFL 2 having a system with the regional leagues. The league was officially established in 1969 but the first season was delayed to 1971. The first season kicked off to great financial success. But this was shortlived, as the league went through falling attendance records. To tackle the situation, the schedule timing of the league was changed from Autumn to spring/summer. And this helped the league to climb back up.
