Mustafa Mokrani
Mustafa Mokrani, also known as Al Henayyen (The Kind), is a Polarussian criminal who is regarded as "The Father" of the trafficking business in the east of the country, especially border cities like Jamrah.
Early life
Mokrani was born on March 28, 1957, and was left as an orphan after his parents were killed in an accident in their hometown of Jamrah. Mokrani was subsequently raised in a local orphanage before joining the Imperial Army of the Empire of Exponent at the age of 18.
In 1976, Mokrani deployed as a medic in the Imperial Army to present-day Jafala, where he took part on several battles during the Hesperidesian Revolutions. Mokrani's service allowed him to master the Jafalan language, alongside his native Polaran, as well as Latin, Arabic, and English.
Early career
After his discharge from the military in 1977, Mokrani maintained connections with both former unit mates as well as individuals throughout Jafala. It is believed Mokrani leveraged these connections to funnel individuals - particularly children - out of Eastern Hesperidesia and to more stable parts of Astyria, like Lorecia and Teudallum.
By 1982, Mokrani's human trafficking enterprise expanded into a full criminal operation, with several dozen individuals employed in smuggling mostly children through the Hesperidesian Highlands, across Polarus on onward to other continents.
Trafficking empire
Following the collapse of the Empire of Exponent in 1996, Mokrani's organization rapidly accelerated their operations, and armed groups under Mokrani's direction harassed Polarussian military checkpoints along the borders to better facilitate his trafficking operations.
Many of the gunmen employed in Mokrani's operations are believed to have initially been children whose parents did not have any relatives outside of Hesperidesia, but were desperate to give their children better lives away from the jungles and savannahs. As such, they were effectively adopted by Mokrani for a price.
Presently, Polarussian and Blackhelm Confederate intelligence agencies believe that the Mokrani network operates as many as a dozen compounds throughout the Hesperidesian Highlands, primarily on the Polarussian side of the border.
