Andrew Ng Fan-chiu MP SC (吳返照; Morwall romanization: ng4 faan1 jiu3; born 8 November 1961) is a Nakongese politician who has served as the fifth Prime Minister of Nakong since 2012. Prior to his premiership, he served in the cabinet of James Lee as Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism from 2004 to 2008 and then as Minister of Finance from 2008 until 2012. Prior to entering government, Ng practiced commercial law, served a stint as president of the Nakong Bar Association, and attained the prestigious designation of Senior Counsel in 2001. He is a Member of Parliament for Ningcho—North Bay and the first Nakongese prime minister to be born after independence.
Ng was born in Shek Chuen, Leung Woo County to a merchant father and headmistress mother. He served a compulsory one-year term in the Nakong Air Patrol in 1980–81 and then studied law at the National University of Nakong. After graduating in 1983, Ng worked at the Barreau Lin litigation firm and as in-house counsel to Nacon, obtaining a Master of Laws from the University of Morwall in 1994. Ng was elected president of the Nakong Bar Association in 1998 for a two-year term, before obtaining the Self-Determination Congress' nomination for the constituency of Ningcho—North Bay at the 2000 election.
A close ally of then-Prime Minister James Lee, Ng was appointed after the 2004 election as Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism, in which role he oversaw the development of the Stevens Cove White Sand Resort to increase Euclean tourism to Nakong and the creation of a film credit to support Paisha-language filmmakers. Promoted to Minister of Finance in 2008, Ng oversaw the privatization of Nakonair, managed the public–private construction of the Nakong High-Speed Rail, and established himself as leader of the Self-Determination Congress' economic liberal wing. Following a strong showing for the opposition Democratic Reform Party at the 2012 election, Lee resigned and was succeeded by Ng as Prime Minister of Nakong.
