The National Republican Party (Tethian: Partia Republikane Kombëtare; Montesurian: Pärtitä Nasiunall Ripèblicanu) is a right-wing political party in Austeria. In contemporary Austerian politics, it represents the conservative Sotirian Tethian population in the country and is one of two major parties along with its historic rival, the Kuvendi Party. It is currently the ruling party of the country, with 23 seats in the Senate of Austeria.
The National Republican Party was founded in 2005 as a merger of a several major Sotirian political parties in order to contest the snap general elections under Michel Avgeri. The party emerged as a major political force in the elections, which saw the election of their presidential candidates. The party's first term leading in the government was characterized by its post-crisis economic policies that saw the country's economic recovery while it drew criticism for its privatization policies and lack of transparency concerning financial data and resource utilization. Under the leadership of Kroqi, the party also solidified its identity around Sotirianity and its place as the leading party in the July Bloc.
The National Republican Party is centered around its Sotirian identity and its largely Tethian voter base, despite it officially remains a secular party. It is supported by a wide electorate base ranging from centrists to conservatives, and civic nationalists to Sotirian nationalists. The party generally supports social conservatism, economic liberalism, and opposes reforms to establish a federal state or the further devolution of powers to the counties. The party is divided on the accession of Austeria to the Euclean Community, although the current leadership is supportable of the country joining the union.
