Election loss of the BVP Frankenburg

The BVP had personal consequences from its outcome of the election: Governor Christine Liebetrau announced her immediate resignation as chairwoman of the BVP Frankenburg just a few minutes after the polls closed and the first forecasts were made. A day later, the general secretary of the BVP Frankenburg, Markus Steintritt, also announced his resignation.

Formation of a FBBP-SDU-GPB government

The possible FBBP-SDU-GPB coalition, advocated by FBBP candidate Alexander Schlesinger, had the absolute majority in the State Chamber of Frankenburg after the final result was announced with 48-41 seats. On July 21, 2023, the FBBP, SDU and the GPB presented the coalition agreement of their intended coalition government. On July 27, the Schlesinger cabinet was sworn in. It is the first Frankenburgian state government in which the GPB is involved as a governing party.
