Edegar Briones Abréu (born 1 August 1965) is a Trenadian politician, sociologist and economist who currently serves as governor of the Guaiba province, having taken office in 2021. He also served as vice governor between 2013 and 2020 (under the Elias Meléndrez administration) and also was part of the Osorio city council between 1999 and 2006
