She baptized with the Christian name Christina, being named after her maternal grandmother Empress consort Marie Christine; however, her preference is Alexandra, which she takes after her great-great grandmother Empress consort Alexandra.

Tarpeia attended St. Michael's Preparatory in Colonia Augusta for two years of her secondary schooling, though transferred to Pescia Academy boarding school in Adrianople. School records indicate that Tarpeia had a poor attendance record and was often cited for poor behavior in the class room and at school activities, leading to speculation that she was expelled or asked to transfer from St. Michael's. While suspended for a portion of her final year at Pescia, she would eventually complete her secondary education in 1988. In lieu of attending university immediately, Alexandra took an extended gap year and would not enroll until 1991, spending time traveling across Belisaria. Eventually she enrolled at Castellum College, Castellum, though was denied admission to the Alexandra School. She would later drop out mid-way though her second year.
