Etymology

History

In 1673, Pilgrims traveled to Bakyernian lands, looking for a new home away from the prosecution from the former Grand Duchy of Wendel. By 1790, the Duchy of Mangelagia was founded by a group of city-states in Bakyern. The Mangelagian Duchy enforced oppression against Bakyernian pilgrims, considering them inferior to the ruling caste. Following years of oppression, in 1816, the Bakyernian War of Independence began with Prince Johan Vils the Fifth leading the rebellion. In 1823, the Duchy of Mangelagia surrendered and collapsed to the Kingdom of Bakyern.

Following the signature of the constitution in 1831, the older Articles of Union. From 1835 to 1907, Bakyern has nothing going on, with no wars nor extreme crisis occurring. In 1907, the Mansser Rebellion occurred in the province of Mansser by united Mangelagian and Mansserian independence rebels. From 1907 to 1912, the conflict occurred and ended in a Bakyernian victory. For the decades of 1920 and 1930, Bakyern began to try to make itself onto the world stage. The Weivel Government maintained a policy of open borders and other issues with globalization. Due to the fact Bakyern is landlocked, Bakyern has maintained its economy on land trade via air, train, and truck.

By 1956, the Bakyern government began to implement basic equal rights for women and people of other races and different skin color. The National Congress, which was mainly full of Bakyern's Party for Nationalism, the conservatives and liberals used popular vote to implement the equal rights for all. In 1962, the first female Prime Minister, Angela Telwel, came into power. By this time the economy was becoming completely capitalist with corporations beginning to create their own representatives for congress. This would anger the communists and socialists, and they began to arm themselves, using the 5th Amendment for the right to bear arms as an excuse.

In 1973, the People's Army for Communism began their revolt against the Bakyernian government, beginning the Bakyernian Civil War.

Federal Government

The Federal Government of Bakyern is managed by an entire Congress and Assembly with all Representatives elected by citizens of the state. The Federal Congress is the legislative body of the Federal Republic, while the Assembly is the judicial body of Bakyern. Both bodies are led by a Head of Justice Representative which is appointed by the ruling party of the President. Federal officials have no complete power over the population of Bakyern. The official Bakyernian party system is majorly dominated by two parties, the Conservative Convention Party, and the Liberal Democratic Party.

Both parties dominate all of the Congress and Senate. Minor parties include; the Reformist Party, Democracy Above, and Socialist Unionists of Bakyern. The current ruling party is the Conservative Convention Party, as conservatism is famous in Bakyern.
