Combined Warfare IV, typically shortened to COWAR 4 is an open-world, realism-based, military tactical shooter video game developed and published by Aozora Studios as the fourth release in the Combined Warfare Series. It was released in October of 2020.

COWAR 4 primarily takes place in the late 2030s on the fictional islands of Barjou and Quevillon in the Ossinia Sea and later the fictional island of Ximenlou and real island of Gangkou in the Ausiana War DLC and the Selle terrain in the World War DLC. The terrains consists of photo-realistic terrain and water environments. Gangkou remains the largest official terrain of the Combined Warfare Series. Quevillon was the largest terrain prior to the introduction of the Ausiana War DLC and World War DLC. Barjou and Ximenlou are significantly smaller.

The original single-player campaign has the player take control of a Zamastanian Army soldier SGT Calixte Comtois. During the campaign, the player is placed in a variety of different operations and battles in a fictional war between Zamastan and Yuan in the late 2030s. These operations and battles vary from lone wolf infiltrations to large-scaled combined arms operations. The player is able to choose from a variety of weapons and equipment, such as UAVs, Artillery, and Aircraft.

Since it's initial release, COWAR 4 has been actively maintained by Aozora Studios and partners with a dozen or so significant updates and DLC releases, including most recently in 2021, the World War era DLC World War. COWAR 4 has an extremely active modding community that has published tens of thousands of mods adding terrains, buildings, vehicles, weapons, missions, etc.
