Cordonian royal family

The Cordonian royal family is the reigning family of Cordonia. It comprises of King Liam and his close relations. Though there is no strict legal definition, the lists of members of the royal family has decreased during the reign of King Constantine. The King decreased the number of active members of the family who represent the monarchy due to geopolitical tensions since the 1990s, though his son King Liam has actively expanded the royal family functions. Members of the royal family support the monarch in undertaking public engagements, charity work, political advising and improving the public image of Cordonia. The political powers of the monarch have been limited since the 19th-cenutry but still affect the politics of Cordonia and its members are regarded as cultural symbols of the country and of Europe as a whole.

The monarchical head of state of the Commonwealth of Cordonia is King Liam of Cordonia. He is also the head of the Cordonian royal family and the larger House of Ryan. The Lord Holmes, the intermediary between the Cordonian royal family and the parliament of Cordonia, lists members of the royal family as The King, The Queen, The Duke of Moselle, Princess Lena-Marie, The Lady Westinghouse, and The Queen Mother. Meanwhile, the official website of the Cordonian royal family lists all the above with the exception of the The Duchess of Moselle. Guidelines on addressing royal family members include referring to them as Your Royal Highness. The status of Royal Highness is restricted to a sovereign's children, children-in-laws, grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law.

• The core of the royal family includes King Liam, Queen Olivia, Queen Regina The Queen Mother and Princess Lena-Marie, Duchess of Runarsdottir. They perform royal duties full-time.
• Lower profile members who perform some duties include Matthias, Prince of Limburg and Wolfgang, Prince of Zoland.
• Royal family members who perform no duties include Prince Leonardo, Duke of Moselle, Monika, Princess of Orange and Andreas, Prince of Rotterdam.
• Members not listed above are only included as extended members of the Cordonian royal family

Titles and surname

The monarch's children and grandchildren are automatically entitled to be known as a prince or princess and use of His or Her Royal Highness. Royal princedoms and dukedoms are usually bestowed by the monarch to their children on the day of their 18th birthday. Descendants of King Dirk I are entitled to use the surname Ryan. Surnames are generally not needed by members of the royal family who bear the title of prince or princess, but the surname Ryan is used when the rare occasion requires one, e.g. Monika, the Princess of Orange, lists her name as Monika Ryan Hsieh.
