In November 18 2014, the Kaiyang Metro announced a new line to begin construction in 2020 to allow access outside of Kaiyang City, becoming the first rapid transit system within Huajiang to provide services outside of city bounds. More plans have been drafted to merge the Kaiyang Metro and the Kaiyang Railroad District (A subsidiary of the [[Huajiang Railroad Network Company]]) together and are under review. Plans to also begin the [[H-92]] into the [[Rolling stock of Kaiyang Metro]] for the new Shikin Express.
