[[Fyrland]], a province within the nation of [[Arasland]] in the [[Green Union]], was settled in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries by several different Emerstarian colonies. The first permanent settlement was the [[Velborg Colony]] in 1538, after the temporary or failed [[Rafenhjalm Colony|Rafenhjalm]], [[Blåvik Colony|Blåvik]], and [[Tungård Colony|Tungård Colonies]] in 1526, 1531, and 1534. Major settlements that were established after the Velborg Colony include the [[Ørnsjø Colony]] in 1555, which was the first successful venture inland, and the [[Grønveþ Colony]] in 1597, which reared the modern capital of Fyrland.

Contrary to the colonization of [[Køphofnø]], most of the Fyrlandish colonies were established as crown colonies, with an appointed royal governor. Although, some, such as the [[Kjolborg Colony|Kjolborg]] and [[Sandhand Colony|Sandhand Colonies]] were granted charters that eventually were revoked. Between 1538 and 1609, nine colonies in total were set up within Fyrland: the Velborg Colony in 1538, the [[Ålstrøm Colony]] in 1543, the Kjolborg Colony in 1550, the Ørnsjø Colony in 1555, the Sandhand Colony in 1566, the [[Fjalland Colony]] in 1572, the Grønveþ Colony in 1597, and the [[Håtre Colony]] in 1608. The Velborg Colony was merged into the Ålstrom Colony in 1558, as was the Fjalland Colony in 1622, and the Ørnsjø and Håtre Colonies were joined to create the [[Norland Colony]] in 1639. In 1677, these two colonies were combined, forming the [[Miþ Fyrland Colony]]. The Kjolborg charter was revoked in 1668, while the Sandhand charter in 1670, and both of these colonies were merged into the Grønveþ Colony. The Grønveþ and Miþ Fyrland Colonies coexisted until they were joined in 1720, establishing one Emerstarian Fyrland.
