The Military Academy of Tsivebi (Vedmedi: ცივების სამხედრო კოლეჯი) is a Vedmedi Military Academy ran by the Vedmedi Ministry of Defense. It is located in Tsivebi at 1010 Gamarjevebis. It is the oldest Military Academy in Vedmed, founded on July 18 1880 by the Vedmedi Metauri Meliton Abamelek. It is considered one of the premier military academies in Samorspi and is the leading methodical, scientific and educational of the Vedmedi Armed Forces. General Zeynab Rustaveli has been the commanding officer of the establishment since June of 2010.

History

The Military Academy was founded on July 18 1880 by Meliton Abamelek, a former Cavalry Officer serving in the Soravian Army. Originally named the “Military Academy of the Cavalry in Tsivebi.” The academy was founded as part of an attempt to provide education to many young Vedmedi Metauri who were recruited into the Soravian Military in effective cavalry leadership. Later reformed in 1902 to the Military Academy of Tsivebi, expanding the curriculum of the school from that of cavalry tactics to incorporate the different branches of the Soravian Army. Following the conclusion of the Sostava War and the independence of Vedmed, the academy was reformed into its modern structure in 1989.
