The Ossorian Armed Forces (Ossorian Gaelic: Fórsaí Armtha na hOsraí), are the military forces responsible for the defense of the High Kingdom of Ossoria, its overseas territories and dependencies. They also promote the Realm's wider interests, support international peacekeeping efforts and provide humanitarian aid to disaster areas.
Today, the Armed Forces are comprised of the Royal Ossorian Navy, a blue-water navy consisting of over 300 commissioned ships and the Royal Marine Corps, a highly trained amphibious light infantry force; the Royal Ossorian Army, which serves as the primary ground warfare arm; the Royal Ossorian Air Force, an advanced air force operating a wide array of aircraft; and the Royal Ossorian Defense Force, which protects the Realm from strategic threats. The Ossorian Home Guard is raised, administered and commanded by the Constituent Kingdoms and Dominions, but are brought under the jurisdiction of the Royal Army during time of war, while the Ossorian Royal Guard are responsible for the security of the capital city of Kenlis and the safety of the Monarch and the Royal Family.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces is the Monarch of Ossoria, currently Tara Ní Sionán, to whom all service members swear allegiance. The Armed Forces are managed by their respective administrative apparatuses: the Admiralty for the Navy, the . by the Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Privy Council, chaired by the Chairman of the Committee.
Ossoria is one of the recognized Tyrannic Great Powers, being one of the recognized nuclear powers, the host nation of the Organization of Tyrannic Nations and one of the five permanent members of the OTN Security Council, and is a founding and leading member of the Commonwealth of Sovereign Nations military and economic alliance. The Realm maintains overseas bases and training facilities in Æsthurlavaj, Allamunnika, Delkora, Gylias, Mansuriyyah, Nordkrusen, Svinia, and West Aotearoa.
