The cultural continuity of the Kaarre continued into the 1st millennium BCE with the transition to the Iron Age believed to occur between the 300s and 100s BCE. The Iron Age saw a transition from {{wp|pastoralism}} to {{wp|nomadism}}, with the culture spectrum of {{wp|Finno-Ugric peoples|Keranic}} groups being collectively referred to as Iron Age Nomads.
