The Republican Party (Template:Spl: 共和党; Alphabetized Huajiangite: Gònghédǎng) is the founding and ruling party of the Republic of Huajiang. The Republican Party is the dominant party and is the only legal party, with all other parties being allowed to exist as sub-ordinate parties or subsidiaries of the party.
The Republican Party was officially founded by Ye Desheng in 1878 on May 22nd in Qicheng as a secret-society. The Party gained a significant following after the Gao'an Revolt and participated in the Huajiangite Civil War, before becoming the largest group that participated in the war. By 1881, at the end of the Civil War, almost all other parties were destroyed, disbanded or assimilated within the Republican Party. This led to the Proclamation of the Republic of Huajiang and the signing of the 1881 Constitution of the Republic of Huajiang.
