The South Sunadic Economic Agreement is an economic alliance proposed and later founded by Hoterallia, which had already engaged into in depth discussion regarding the idea and setting out a list of prerequisites and standards for the agreement with representatives from Flatstone and Kakland in early September. The nation of Gran Rugido would later be invited to participate after the agreements creation.

The pact would officially be created between Hoterallia, Flatstone, Kakland, and later Gran Rugido on September 21st, serving as the standard for the four nation for another ten months before Flatstone would withdraw from the pact due to a number of political disagreements with Hoterallia conflicting with Stonish ambitions in the region.

Creation

In September of 1989, the idea for the pact would materialize in Hoterallia amongst progressive Hoterallian politicians who hoped to exert their influence and create new opportunities throughout the economically developing nations in the region and potentially export Hoterallian technology to said nations as well. Flatstone and Kakland would be targeted for immediate membership, both of which agreed to participate in the agreement and abide by its requirements. Gran Rugido would enter into the agreement only a month after its creation in October, becoming the most recent member to sign off on the South Sunadic Economic Agreements.

Purpose

The agreements served three main purposes; firstly, it aimed to reduce tariffs affecting all of the member nations involved, contributing greatly to the second purpose. The second purpose was to enable trade in the region, specifically strengthening trade between the member nations and ensuring the protection of popular trade routes between said nations. Additionally, increased free trade came with the benefit of the member states also being able to assist each-other in times of trouble. The third and final purpose was to encourage the technological development between the signatories of the agreement, with a heavy emphasis on Hoterallia providing technological advancements to the other signatories.

History

Flatstones Withdrawal and the Creation of the Vedoti Pact

On June 28th of 2022, ten months after the agreements foundation by Hoterallia, Flatstone proposed to Kakland the creation of what would later become the Vedoti Pact, incorporating the nations of Syrgystan, Fallooplesburg, and Sitrea into its foundation. The creation of the pact at the time had been completely unrelated to the South Sunadic Economic Agreements, however despite this, it sparked unwanted controversy. In the days following the pacts creation and the subsequent attention it recieved, Hoterallia would go on to denounce its creation, stating that it interfered with the Hoterallian sphere of influence. These claims were contested by the members of the Vedoti pact, and its existince continued regardless of Hoterallian protests. Because of this disagreement, Flatstone, serving as the founder of the Vedoti pact, would withdraw its signature and investments into the South Sunadic Economic Agreements, formally putting an end to its membership.
