Traditional Closed and Contemporary Open Ts’minda tavsaburavi on a K'vari Councillor

A Tavsaburavi is the type of headgear that is traditionally worn on the head of the K'vari Severibi and at times, the heads of Male Akanovan. It is mandated within the Second Order of K'vari that a Tavsaburavi be worn at all times by male K'vari Severibi. Use of a Tavsaburavi by non-K'vari Severibi is discouraged within the Akanovan Federal Territories. A Tavsaburavi is not to be confused with a Tavsapari, which is worn by all K'vari Severibi within a K'vari Assembly except for K'vari Councillors.

Types

There are five different Tavsaburavis: Sheguardi Tavit, Vanguard Tavpurtseli, Warrior Tavsasharpi, Guardian Tetri Tavsaveeba, and Councillor Ts’minda Tavsaburavi. K'vari Sheguardi, Vanguards, Warriors and Guardians are expected to don a Tavsapari when entering a K'vari Assembly.

K'vari Sheguardi

The Sheguardi Tavit (თავით) is the traditional skullcap of the K'vari Sheguardi. It is the smallest variant of the Tavsaburavis and is worn by all K'vari Sheguardi. The construction of a Sheguardi breaks the Tavit into three different parts: The stem (ღეროვანი; Gherovani), the body (სხეული; Skheuli) and the seal (ბეჭედი; Bech’edi). The stem is meant to signify a plant and is always made to be black. The bvody on the otherhand, is usually unique as most other Tavsaburavis are meant to be special to the specific Sheguardi. The seal is meant to hold the skullcap in place and retain its shape, and moreso the frame of the Tavit. The seal is usually given an embroidered pattern during construction.

Sheguardi are given a Tavit upon their ascension into the Second Order, whether it be during adulthood or during childhood. Their Tavit is usually constructed during the first stage of their acceptance under supervision of the K'vari Guardian. The Tavit is not meant to be taken off unless in the presence of the entirity of the K'vari Sabaphos including both the K'vari Sabaphos Memk'vidre and the K'vari Sabaphos Mepe

The Tavit is not meant to change form and as such the modification of a Tavit is seen as a Censure. This rule originated in the Tredashio Collection and has been kept in contemporary times by the Second Order.

The origin of a Tavit comes from the Second Enchiridon, as the Tredashio Collection did not interpret any member other than K'vari Councillor, the K'vari Sabaphos Memk'vidre or the K'vari Sabaphos Mepe as required to wear a headdress. However by the time of the Era of the Codex, the rule of all K'vari Severibi requiring to wear a headdress was mandated. This was enforced by the Ghadamian Sabaphos.
