Katharina was born in Gorkog, Vitebellia to the prominent Beintrussel family as the third of eight daughters to Frederick Helmut de Beintrussel, 16th Count de Beintrussel of Gorkog and Lady Adelheid von Öltenhausen. She was educated at Saints Cleophas and Redemptus School and Döhlbach School, and earned a degree in arts and letters at Ravensbruck University. In 2004, while working as an assistant librarian in Hexentreffen, she met Charles IV (then Crown Prince Imperial at that time).
