Útblót roughly translated to "outside of the blot(Sacrifice)" and is the practice of the chronologically to ban certain individuals from taking part of the religious sacrifices held by the chronologically and by doing so effectively putting them outside of the chronologically and outside of the gods light. As oaths taken in the older days so would this mean either by the oldest laws that great farmers in your empire no longer needed to pay tribute to you nor that you could be blessed by magic and even in extreme cases so would a man's magic armour and weapons stop working.

In the more modern laws so would the feudal lords no long need to serve a king as lardins nor to bring armies to their liege's field in the similar manner so would the peasantry no longer be forced to pay taxes to their lord. In both of those cases did it also mean that the person útblótad did either not enjoy the protection of the law just like any ordinary outlaw. A person that have been declared útblótad may neither change sect.

In the modern day and age however so is it rare that someone is declared Útblót and it lacks the same legal ramifications as it did in the old days and today is a man just scorned and unable to join the blot ceremonies.

People able to declare someone Útblótad

The main authority able to declare someone an Útblótad lies within the Arch cleric and the high clerics of each sect and each high cleric domain, other than that would a person need to be sentenced in a clerical court of at least 9 clerics.

Repentance

Just as the leader of the sect of the religion can declare a person Útblótas so can he also allow the person back to the blots. This is done through a so called helgedåd, or holy deed. The exact nature of helgedådet can change and is entirely up to the spiritual leader but have changed from a month of praying and fasting, generous land or economical donations to the temple, building a holy grove or even a whole temple to more extreme measures like slaying a dragon, lindorm or Rotbest and even leading or being part of an exalted march.

Example of people being declared útblót

The most well known example would be Gustaf Haraldssen that was a great Imerian king before the unification that was discovered to research dark magic to bring back his daughter. However when he was útblótad so did he plead for his soul and the Arch cleric decided that if he lead his army to the south and brought the various small pony and hafling kingdoms into the light of the holy chronicles. With the aid of his uncle that was a king in Söderskoga, several Drotins and the support of the Karmän so did he lead an army that managed to squash the south and he was once more welcomed into the ranks of the holy chronicles himself.
