Ŭtasiĭ is the capital and fourth largest city of the High Kingdom of Yi. It is located at the northwestern branch of lake Niixiö, where the river Hĕxun enters the lake. Historically known as Aatassyr, the town gained prominence in the 9th century when it was chosen by members of the Rei nobility in opposition to the rule of the Rei King as their base of operations. Under the first High King, Siaura Ütöingkë (Siowa Inŭhŏ), Ŭtasiĭ de facto became the capital of the High Kingdom, which was only confirmed de iure in 1951.
As the seat of the government of Yi, Ŭtasiĭ is home to state institutions, national monuments, museums, government departments and agencies, foreign embassies, etc. In addition, the First University of Yi, the Hŭjien Gégésy University, the High Royal Mint of Yi, and the headquarters of the High Royal Armed Forces are located in Ŭtasiĭ.
As a municipality, Ŭtasiĭ is subdivided in sixteen local councils. The city is connected to the rest of the country by numerous highways and railroads (including a high-speed connection). Ŭtasiĭ's airport, Kīwun Wiūsato International Airport, is the largest national hub. Ŭtasiĭ has an extensive underground mass transit system in place.

Sotirianist culture
Although Sotirianity is officially forbidden in Yi, some churches and cathedrals were allowed to be built under the Floren High Kings. All of them are surrounded by large walls and generally inaccessible for native Yi. The largest such cathedral is the Nostra Senyora del Dolor Perpetu (Yirō name to be added), which has been under construction since 1901; most of the building is finished and usable for services but the final completion is expected to last for several more decades, also because construction is frustrated by local authorities.
