1st Army is a field army of the Syaran National Army. Founded in 1990, it is the oldest of modern Syara's armies, and one of four still active. First Army is assigned to Realm Force Makedon for the land based defense of Makedon. 1st Army is composed of three corps, II, IV, and VII, in additional to 11 brigades and regiments.

History

First Army was stood up in 1990 as the first major field formation of the Syaran Army. 1st Army originally was responsible for all major ground units across all of Syara. At its peak, 1st Army was responsible for the command of more than 400,000 troops. As such 1st Army was the principle command for Syaran ground forces during the Imerti Conflict. Following the conflict the SNA Central Command raised an additional two field armies, the 2nd and 3rd, to better handle command and control of the Syaran army. Following the outbreak of the Zemplen War, 1st Army was again mobilized and assigned to the central section of the border with Ruvelka. 1st Army played a major role in the August Offensive, securing the city of Sopron and most of Zemplen from Ruvelkan control. As part of Operation Aspis, 1st Army was assigned to Army Group Beta under the command of Colonel General Marko Kukolja. 1st Army played a mostly supporting role during the rest of 2008, parrying Ruvelkan efforts during the Ruvelkan Winter Counter-Offensive. In the spring of 2009 1st Army took part in the Battle of Sagerejo, where it attempted but failed to break through Ruvelkan lines to the north of the city. 1st Army attempted a number of small scale offensives against Ruvelkan forces in the northern Kurilla Mountains, but met with little success. During Operation Homefront 1st Army held its ground initially, but the collapse of 6th Army to its south and 3rd Army to its north forced 1st Army to retreat. Under harrowing Ruvelkan pursuit, 1st Army unsuccesfully attempted to hold Imerti just before the end of the war.

Following the conflict, 1st Army was reorganized and placed under Realm Force Makedon in 2014, under the command of Colonel General Hraztan Piruzian.
