Background

Electoral system

The election to the State Chamber of Greuningia is decided according to proportional representation. The electoral threshold is 5%. The legislative period is five years. Those who had their main residence in Greuningia as of August 5, 2008 and were 18 or older on election day were eligible to vote. Greuningians abroad were also able to cast their votes. However, they were not allowed to live abroad for more than ten years and had to submit an application to do so.
