The 2023 Mazeran general election was held on Saturday, 28 January 2023. It resulted in the Conservative Party receiving a landslide majority of 436 seats. It was the country's first ever nationwide election.

Background

In November 2022, a civil war broke out across Mazerus, and by January 2023, the Liberation Militia (LM) had won the war. De-facto leader of the LM, Yuan Shekay, shortly after became Prime Minister of Mazerus and called a general election on the 18th.

Date of the election

The deadline for candidate nominations was 25th January 2023, with political campaigning for 10 days until polling day on 28 January. On the day of the election, polling stations across the country were open from 7 am, and closed at 10 pm.

Voting eligibility

Individuals eligible to vote had to be registered to vote by midnight on 27 January. To be eligible to vote, individuals had to be aged 18 or over; residing as an Mazeran or Shisanean citizen at an address in Mazerus, or a Mazeran citizen overseas who registered to vote; and not legally excluded (on grounds of detainment in prison, a mental hospital, or on the run from law enforcement) or disqualified from voting.
