The 2024 Fallish general election will be the 20th quadrennial general election in Falland since the establishment of the federation in 1944. It is set to be held from 5-11 May 2024. It will determine the composition of the Chamber of Deputies, and will run parallel with the 2024 Fallish prime ministerial election. It is the 12th general election to be held under the reign of Theresa.

Background

Procedure

According to the Fallish Constitution, Each electoral division of Falland elects one member to the Chamber of Deputies using the first-past-the-post voting system. This will run parallel to the 2024 Fallish prime ministerial election which would occur on 11 May. Both majority and minority government are possible election outcomes.

In order to vote in the general election, one has to be on the Electoral Register, be over the age of 18 during the polling week, resident at an address in Falland, or a Fallish citizen living abroad who has been registered to vote in Falland at any time. Individuals barred from voting include convicted people detained in prison or a mental hospital, unlawfully at large if the person would otherwise have been detained, a person found guilty of certain corrupt or illegal practices, or disqualified from voting (advisors sitting in the Chamber of Advisors).

Individuals must be registered to vote by midnight twelve days before the beginning of the election. Any person who has two homes could also be able to register to vote at both addresses as long as they are not in the same electoral area, but can only vote in one electoral division during the general election.

Electoral divisions

The election is to be contested under under the same boundaries for 810 electoral divisions that have been used since the 2004 general election.

Contesting political parties and candidates

Most candidates are representatives of a political party, which must be registered with the Electoral Commission's Register. Those who do not belong to one must use the label "Independent" or none.
