The ASM-7 STRIKE (Select TRacking Intelligent Kill & Engagement) is an air-to-ground anti-tank missile developed by Seratto Defense Solutions specifically for deployment on the A-10Y Urutu aircraft. It works in tandem with the Urutu's AEQ/GS-2 radar to be able to engage multiple targets in a matter of seconds, and such features are also compatible with other similar radar systems such as the AN/APG-78 Longbow radar.
STRIKE is fitted with a 15kg Tandem HEAT warhead, giving it the ability to destroy modern main battle tanks equal to or even greater than the AGM-65 Maverick.
Three ASM-7 STRIKE missiles can be carried on a single hardpoint on the A-10 series, giving the aircraft the ability to engage three times the amount of armored targets as it would carrying Maverick missiles. The Corps Marìnas D'Inyursta have fitted their Ka-52Y Jaquetón with the ASM-7E STRIKE-L where it primarily serves as an anti-small boat craft weapon in addition to an anti-tank/fortification missile.
Variants
- ASM-7 STRIKE: Standard model produced 2004 - 2010.
- ASM-7E STRIKE-L: Semi-Active Laser Guided model produced starting in 2006 to give ground forces man-in-the-loop ability.
- ASM-7K STRIKE: Upgraded model produced starting in 2010. Features an estimated 20-30% increase in range, plus improved electro-optical seeker component.
- ASM-7L STRIKE II: Modern long-range model, featuring a two-stage rocket similar to the Hermes missile, increasing the operational range up to 90km.
